A Warm Fuzzy Business
Before she had children, my sister, Mary use to work with me as marketing director of our software company. She ran marathons in her spare time and she was a contender! I remember when her goal was to run a marathon under 2 hours and 50 minutes. And she did it; qualifying her for the Olympic Trial.
See Mary Run. . . Run Mary Run. . .
Who would have guessed that underneath that compact, athletic exterior there was a treasure trove of creativity! A couple of years ago, a friend taught her to make felt from old lambs wool sweaters . Mary began to make ponchos for little girls that were, oh so yummy. As a stay at home mom with two children, she would sew late into the night after the kids went to bed. (no more 5:30 AM runs on those dark chilly mornings). She made the ponchos, in all colors with darling unique designs, for her daughter but soon everyone wanted them. And Mary kept those panchos coming one cuter than the next. Soon she branched out making hats, leg warmers, baby gowns and tee shirts with felted appliques and recently she got another one of our sisters , Cindy ( did I mention I have five sisters?), to sew little felted quilts for her.
Felted Heart just had its first birthday and is set to expand soon. Currently Mary sells her wares at The Beehive on Peachtree Road in Buckhead and at local festivals and art shows. During the month of February her work is being featured in the Starbucks on Moreland Road in Little Five Points. You will also find her tees and fuzzy wuzzies at the Inman Park Festival this April. Check her out. www.FeltedHeart.com

Go SG! I love to see your creative bug letting loose. At last, a bug that works for us as apposed to working against such as Judy’s computer bug issue.
Get your heart felted!
