I know you were waiting for the day that you could send electronic refrigerator magnet messages to your friends. That day has arrived, thanks to Matt Facer.

I’ve got your number, and letter too
Numbers and letters have been very much on my mind and all of a sudden they are everywhere. I have always loved Fishes Eddy and they have some great alphabet mugs.

Several companies now specialize in letters that you mount on the wall such as these at Harmionie interiure.

Way too cool.

I am so jealous that Atlanta does not have the coolness of a place like Marfa Texas. They have an Adobe Prada store out in the middle of cactus and sage brush. They have the Thunderbird Hotel almost as great as the Ace Hotel. I think I will need to have a field trip to Marfa very soon.
On the other hand, since Atlanta is so damn conservative and booooring in the design department that anything out of the box really stands out. And yuck yuck on Atlantic Station. What a waste of a great opportunity.

You Can Sleep When You’re Dead
I’ve been looking at fonts for the Danneman’s logo and for the sign for side of the building. Along the way I have come across some cool old coffee signs. Yes, I always say, “Do stupid things faster with more energy!”

Danneman’s again

About five years ago, Stewardson bought the abandoned building from the Danneman family and restored it, leasing the corner space of the original market to his first tenant, the Javaology coffee shop.

The Makings of a Great Day
I am so lucky to work for myself and not have to commute, punch a clock or wear panty hose. In fact, I have been my own boss since 1985. There was one stretch in there from 1990 to 2000 when I ran a software company. That was kind of like working for someone else [...]

Inman Park Parish
My family is from Louisiana so I am always looking for good creole food in restaurants (hard to find it better than I make it). I was glad that the Concentric group was going to put this particular restaurant in one of the old warehouses on North Highland. If you ask me that stretch of Highland needed some warmth and some cool.

Love Letters
I got my love letters from Grant as part of his great mid-century modern, craigslist jackpot sale last month. Joe said that he could’ve whipped them up for me with a saw, in an afternoon. p’shaw…I did just find a great store, Timeless Treasures in San Francisco that specializes in antique letters.
