Pinot Noir for Horacio

Posted May 21st, 2008 by Judi

After Michael and I got gas and were on our way we passed by a sign for Pinot Noir Grapes. Before I had left Atlanta, Horacio our Argentine, Tango instructor and wine connoisseur was waxing on about Oregon Pinot Noir so we pulled into the little Wy’East winery and had a wine tasting. Well I say we, but really Michael watched me taste the wine since he isn’t 21 quite yet. I bought Horacio a bottle of the good stuff, the one that was made from the grapes of the old vines.

Running on Empty

Posted May 21st, 2008 by Judi

Sunday, Michael wanted to drive out to Mount Hood so we got together late morning and headed out. I had the rental car which I had picked up with a full tank of gas at the airport and I thought I would never be able to use all of it in five days. I was very wrong since I spent the majority of each day in Portland getting lost and driving all over hell and back. That is the bad thing, the good thing is that I did learn my way around the entire city.

Serendipity

Posted May 21st, 2008 by Judi

I am back in Atlanta and woke up early, still being on Portland time, and decided to walk to Java-Vino to see my boys, Joe and Grant. When I got there, at first, I thought it was closed because there were no people around. It wasn’t closed; I was just early. I got my coffee [...]

Shaggy Doo Look-aLike

Posted May 17th, 2008 by Judi

I am out here in Portland visiting Shaggy Doo. Whoops, I mean Michael Earley. When I arrived Michael was wearing his favorite Shaggy Doo shirt ,so it is no wonder I got it confused. We went on line and looked for pictures of Shaggy and found the 411 on Sccoby Doo. It seems that there is much speculation as to exactly what Shaggy and friends were doing in their van. Michael said that the Scooby Doo movie starts with them saying they are toated with lots of smoke was coming out of

Ed Hardy, Too much Ain’t Enough…. Or is it?

Posted May 14th, 2008 by Judi

It has really gone way too far when TJ Max has a bunch of Ed hardy Tee Shirts on sale for ten dollars and then Dillards has an over the top display of three hundred dollar Ed Hardy Handbags. Now the thing is, I like Ed Hardy and I love his designs but when it comes to the point that women from the burbs are buying three hundred dollar handbags, I’m done. It’s just lost its itsness.

Cool Way to Never Lose your Reading Glasses

Posted May 12th, 2008 by Judi

My Sister Dorothy came to town sportin’ the best glasses I have seen in a long time. Everywhere we went people asked her about them. They are called Clics and they have a snap to closure at the nose so that they just hang around your neck if you aren’t needing them. Dorothy’s glasses were in my favorite color, chartreuse. But, when we looked for them on-line you can get them in lavender, grass

Buenos Aires tango orchestra

Whether you have three days in Buenos Aires or you plan to fall in love and live here for good, a walking tour is a great way to get to know the city,

says Eve Hyman, in an Interview with Alan Patrick for the website, Argentinastravel.com. Alan is a blogger, English expat, who offers walking tours of Buenos Aires. I had read Alan’s blog, Buenos Tours prior to going to Buenos Aires back in March 08 and found it fun and informative. I never was able to take one of his tours since we were on such a whirlrwind tango schedule for ten days at CITA 2008. But because I read his posts I felt like I knew where I wanted to go when we did have a little time.
