Heres how it works. I have done so many open houses at the Wigwam that it looks like I live there. I have spent mucho dollars on advertising and also Realtor caravans. I have had postcards printed up and have had several magazine articles about the Wigwam Annex. Everyone loves it but but but…

Colour Lover

I found a really fun and addicting website yesterday, www.colourlovers.com. It is a site where you can play around with different palettes of colors and then create patterns based on those palettes. It will then give you all of the html (or other color identification systems) labels for each of the colors so that you can use them elsewhere.

I would really recommend that you not go to this site until after all your bills are paid. If you don’t you may never get back to them,

Dynamic Dish Needs a Sign

I have told David the owner and chef at Dynamic Dish a wonderful little gem of a restaurant on Edgewood, that he needs a sign in big orange letters claiming his space. The restaurant is open for lunch most days and dinner on the weekends but its kind of hard to find if you don’t know what your looking for since it is in such an unexpected location.

David makes the freshest organic, complex but at the same time, simple meals that I have had out in Atlanta. Eating there makes me wonder why I don’t prepare food like that everyday for myself. My meals probably wouldn’t be quite as elegant but I like striving for perfection and David’s meals are right on up there.

American Goldfinch

Posted July 26th, 2008 by Judi

american-goldfinchI thought I saw a canary sitting on my fence but I looked it up and saw that it was a mating American Goldfinch. Sometimes they are called a wild canary. Whatever it is called it was quite beautiful. The male is all bright yellow in the summer when he is mating the rest of the year he is more drab in color like the females.

Extreme Bathroom Makeover

after-bathroom

The bathroom in Mary’s space was just awful. Someone had built very shabby walls and painted the mural on them and it just gave me the creeps to go in there. So we had to do an overhaul. Mark took out the sink and cabinet. We Freecycled it and someone came and took it within an hour. We were going to remove the little wing wall but it was full of pipes so Mark built it back, patched up the walls where needed and trimmed the space out a little better. It was still horrible, so I got in there with the primer. It took three coats of primer and two coats of paint to cover that mess. But at least was then had a clean blank slate.

Making a Custom Drum Lamp Shade

I bought some fabric that I loved from Forsyth a few months ago and it came in handy the other day for Mary’s Felted Heart space in the Studio 658 building. She needed a light fixture to hang above her seating area. We looked for a great big drum light but the ones we found were all quite expensive.

Upwardly Mobile Trailer Trash?

Where can you get some blackberry moonshine trailer park hooch, Moon Pies and pickled pigs feet? Where can you rub elbows with a notorious cast of characters to include Grant, Daniel and Lary? Where can you celebrate the launch and book signing of Hollis Gillespie’s third book, Trailer Trashed, My Dubious Efforts Toward Upper Mobility?

Clint Zeagler is the Cat’s Pajamas

Posted July 19th, 2008 by Judi

I just found Clint Zeagler’s website and blog. Or rather Clint Zeagler just found me and then I found his site which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading. Clint’s blog is called the Pecan Pie Gazette and the tagline is: “A Big Ole Slice of the South”. I especially like his posts on southernisms. The most [...]

Working on Karen Meyers website has been a fun experience. She just sent me these little purse drawings that I incorporated into a banner for her website. I hope she likes it.
