Extreme Bathroom Makeover
The bathroom in Mary’s space was just awful. Someone had built very shabby walls and painted the mural on them and it just gave me the creeps to go in there. So we had to do an overhaul. Mark took out the sink and cabinet. We Freecycled it and someone came and took it within an hour. We were going to remove the little wing wall but it was full of pipes so Mark built it back, patched up the walls where needed and trimmed the space out a little better. It was still horrible, so I got in there with the primer. It took three coats of primer and two coats of paint to cover that mess. But at least was then had a clean blank slate.
We bought four lab tables for 40.00 each from a teacher who had picked them up from the dumpster at his high school when school let out. We decided to use one of them for the vanity. These lab tables were not slate but rather some weird man made material. I coated the top with clear varnish to seal in all of the carved names and such. I found the cute little sink ( 80.00) and a faucet ( 100.00) from Ikea. Mark made a shelf under the table and cut out a hole for the sink and installed it.
Mary had the mirrors and the matching hook thing which looked real cute. I had a strange little rough wood table and Mary decoupaged it with old architectural plans. What a huge improvement. We love it now!
