Mid-Century Doors to my Heart
Just found a terrific website for a terrific company, Crestview Doors that specializes in making doors for mid-century homes. Love It, Love it! They are located in Austin, Texas. Their website showcases a lot of mid-century design, including a picture of my living room at 130 Krog Street (so you see, I know they have great taste).

Let There Be Light!
We finally have the beginnings of a Window in Mary’s Felted Heart studio to be. Mark has been working on installing these metal windows for the past few days and he finally got to the point of knocking the block out for one of them and installing that window. He will do the other one tomorrow. What a difference it makes to have light in the main room. I have felt like I’m working in a cave.

The Big Blue Splot
![]()
As I was walking to my car with a basket full of construction goodies, my gallon of turquoise paint somehow escaped from the cart and exploded in the parking lot. The miracle was that I got one drop on my shoe and that was it. The gods were smiling on me.

How do you spell FUN?
I have been working on my sister Mary’s new studio called the, The 658 Studios. It is located in a mixed-use section of the Old Fourth Ward Neighborhood on Angier avenue off of Glen Iris. This building is located on what will be the front row seat of the new park that is going to run from City Hall East and eventually hook up to Freedom Parkway Trail. When Mary and her husband bought the building, this 60’s era warehouse was already divided into 3 live-work units. When the lease was up in the rear unit, we began renovating the space to house Mary’s Felted Heart children’s clothing business that she has been running from her Inman Park Home. Mary and her husband and two children are all delighted that soon they will have their living room and den back.

Web Design by Dummy
I am not a web designer. But I have designed several websites and I enjoy doing it. In fact, I get completely mesmerized by it. It is partly because of the design of the format of the website itself but that is only part of the equation. The other really important part is designing the graphics for the site. I have been working on Karen Meyers site the past couple of weeks.

Dogathletes not allowed in the Peachtree
The boys are all suited up but won’t be running the Peachtree Road Race tomorrow. I had to break it to them tonight that it was a no go. But they felt better knowing we will be going to the Mountains for a few days. That will make it up to them. I just hope Clifford doesn’t get carsick.

Five item must see/must do list for Buenos Aires
My friend Joe is off to Argentina on the Fourth of July. There are a bunch of us who are very envious. He asked me to give him a list of the five places on my Buenos Aires must see/must do list. So here goes:

1.San Telmo Street Fair on Sundays. On Sundays they block the streets off and vendors come and have a flea market kind of thing in the square and on the streets surrounding the square in this quaint old neighborhood. They had stalls with old vintage cameras and one of vintage record players some with the horns and everything. There were really interesting items I don’t usually see around here.

Freecycle: a great idea
I just joined the Freecycle yahoo group this week. It is a site set up for people to list things that they want to give away. People see the post and send a reply telling the poster they want the item and they make arrangements to pick it up. Then they put another post on [...]

Craigslist Jackpot
This week I scored a great little retro set of two chairs and a love seat from Craigslist. Grant sent me the link, and so I guess he is like my mid-century crack dealer and I hope he keeps it coming. The set came from Steven who owns Java Jive the retro breakfast joint over on Ponce De Leon. I had thought I was going to use them in one of my client’s houses but they look too cute right where they are.
