Ganja Queen, Her Pot or Not Her Pot?
That is the question.
I was scrolling through the list of on-demand HBO documentaries to find something to watch late last night and narrowed it down to one called Ganja Queen and another about child kidnapping in China. Duane’s chose Ganja Queen so we watched the story of Schapelle Corby, a 28 year old Australian woman who was arrested and tried for smuggling 4.2 kilos of marijuana into Bali in a boogie board bag.

The Green Velour Christo
I picked Amanda up yesterday morning from her red eye flight back from Rio. She had been going to school there for eight months and has been there since Christmas day. It is wonderful to have her home for a few days. She will be going back to New Orleans next week to finish up her last year of College at Tulane majoring in Latin American Studies and International Development. Amanda would have graduated last spring but she was a sophomore when Hurricane Katrina came through completely knocking her world. She had been looking forward to her sophomore year in a sorority, had gotten accepted into a special dorm for students doing community volunteer projects and was going to be taking pre-med courses that year.

Four Days to Hotness
The other day, Grant’s friend Hollis stopped into Danneman’s and was telling us how she is on the last stages of a big self improvement program. First, she went on a ten day cleanse and lost ten pounds, she got busy and all of a sudden her hair was long, then she had her teeth [...]

Wishes do Come True
I love writing down my desires, the focus tends to manifest them. It doesn’t hurt to keep the list somewhere that your husband or boyfriend can see it. Here was my wish list in 2001. August 30, 2001 • Salmon colored window shades for office • Rug for my office • Traffic CD “Low Spark [...]

Rained out

Wouldn’t you know it. I plan my garage sale and an hour and a half into it the rain pours down. I think I made about 100.00 and most of that was from my friend Callahan buying backs gifts she gave me. No just kidding. Well there was the Marilyn Monroe handbag that she gave me for my birthday one year.

What Was I Thinking???

I am getting things cleared out of each room for the big garage sale tomorrow and I just got to my office and was going though the books on my shelves. I read like a maniac, very fast and on all sorts of topics, both novels and non fiction. The first thing I noticed on my shelves it that I don’t have many of the novels that I really love. Mostly, I have given them to friends and family and have never gotten them back.

Turn on a Dime

I think flexibility is an important attribute and I keep finding plenty of opportunities to practice it on a regular basis. Last week, I worked for three solid days in the garden with my two amigos, getting all of the beds cleaned up, planted and mulched motivated in part by the assigned author of having a barbecue Saturday night.

Rampage of Appreciation
I am grateful: for my sisters being in town, that I showed the Wigwam Annex today to a cute young couple that may just well buy it, for the fabulous spring, that we have had some rain and things are green and growing, that my garden walls have been painted, for my long walks with [...]
