Way too cool.

I am so jealous that Atlanta does not have the coolness of a place like Marfa Texas. They have an Adobe Prada store out in the middle of cactus and sage brush. They have the Thunderbird Hotel almost as great as the Ace Hotel. I think I will need to have a field trip to Marfa very soon.
On the other hand, since Atlanta is so damn conservative and booooring in the design department that anything out of the box really stands out. And yuck yuck on Atlantic Station. What a waste of a great opportunity.

No Grounds For Complaint

inside-of-dannemans-grocery

This afternoon, while hanging around watching paint dry (literally) at the construction site of the new Danneman’s I reported to Grant and Kate that I had seen a picture of the inside of the old Danneman’s Super Market at the Atlanta Time Machine Site . So here it is and you should definitely check out Greg’s site for a cool look at the old days in Atlanta versus how this city looks today.

Serendipity

Posted May 21st, 2008 by Judi

I am back in Atlanta and woke up early, still being on Portland time, and decided to walk to Java-Vino to see my boys, Joe and Grant. When I got there, at first, I thought it was closed because there were no people around. It wasn’t closed; I was just early. I got my coffee [...]

Shaggy Doo Look-aLike

Posted May 17th, 2008 by Judi

I am out here in Portland visiting Shaggy Doo. Whoops, I mean Michael Earley. When I arrived Michael was wearing his favorite Shaggy Doo shirt ,so it is no wonder I got it confused. We went on line and looked for pictures of Shaggy and found the 411 on Scooby Doo. It seems that there is much speculation as to exactly what Shaggy and friends were doing in their van. Michael said that the Scooby Doo movie starts with them saying they are toasted with lots of smoke was coming out of

I am a sucker for a snazzy stamp. Since, I don’t really ever write letters my stash of really cool stamps mostly go on my bills. I kind of like thinking about making someone smile when they see my electric bill with a huge super hero stamp on it and a decorative label that I get in the mail from some charity or another wanting me to feel guilty that they sent me these labels and send them money which I don’t.

The Tree Cowboy, Wayne Shannon, just sent me a invite to join his circle in that LinkedIn social network deal. And If you ever need an Arborist he is one to choose, wow – you won’t be able to take you eyes off him climbing around in your trees. I had all of my girlfriends [...]

Shocking Medical Photos

Posted April 10th, 2008 by Judi

When I was walking with “a friend” today he told me that he was going in for his first colonoscopy tomorrow (I am going to refer to him henceforth as ” my friend”, since “my friend” is somewhat squeamish about publicity and may never walk with me again if I blog about his colonoscopy). Anyway, [...]
