My Hotel Fetish

Posted January 4th, 2009 by Judi

Knowing how much I love the design of the Ace Hotel, Kate, Barrista extraordinaire at Danneman’s Coffee, sent me a link to a New York Times article about the design of the latest Ace Hotel which will open in March in New York City at 20 West 29th Street ( Broadway). There is also an [...]

Posted December 29th, 2008 by Judi

My blogging buddy, Nina Rubin, has been posting a Menorah du Jour on her site, Voted off the Island. I have enjoyed following them over the past week. But if you are trying to have a stress free holiday season don’t watch the video she slipped in and

Towels from Anthropologie

Posted December 23rd, 2008 by Judi

Do you need a last minute gift? These dish towels are beautiful and come in a set of three for 24.00. I happen to love this set that Judy Clements bought for her newly renovated kitchen but they also come in several other color ways.

I went to Anthropologie the other day but there were so many things I loved that I came down with a bad case of shoppers paralysis. You may find me there the day after Christmas.

All I want for Christmas is a ….

Posted December 8th, 2008 by Judi

I have been doing some research in preparation for putting together my Christmas list when I got off track and started to think about (well maybe fantasize about) the Roomba. You know, it’s the roboty thing that can vacuum the floor for you, kind of like a pool skimmer? Apparently, this little honey will drive [...]

Chasing Butterflys

Mister in the country from Mark & Katie on Vimeo.

This video is an antidote to the Zombie Post a couple of days ago. I had to get that out of my mind. I Mister is the little Chihuahua dog that travels with Katie and Mark around the country in a very small travel trailer. You can see how happy he is when he gets to stop and get out. Katie and Mark are as devoted to Mister as he is to them. They say,

He spends his time like a true romantic — creating art, singing, meditating, cheering up his friends, providing optimism and encouragement.

Mister sounds like the perfect traveling companion. You can find out more about Mark and Katie’s trip at their website Wanderful, which is by the way, wonderful.

Great Turnout for the Opening[/caption]

The studio opening party and artist sale continues today from 12-5 at 658 Angier Avenue. Mary has displayed Felted Heart baby clothes and dog sweaters, blankets, onsies and other items and some things are 50% off. I bought some beautiful and comfortable handmade damask covered shoes for 65.00 from Ann Roth, and four pair of fantastic earrings from Tracy Tirrell. I have been eying Jacqueline Sanchez’s Lego jewelery but can’t make up my mind which piece to get.

Grant would like him to come home and Eileen is waiting.

Danneman’s Coffee Open Tomorrow

Posted June 10th, 2008 by Judi

open-sign
Congratulations to Joe and Kate on passing the inspection, and to Grant and I for the great design and the top notch group of baristas that Kate hired and all of the other people that have had a hand in pulling this coffee shop out of a hat in just a few weeks. It is the kind of place that makes me want to sit and visit all afternoon. Grant says we need a group hug! I say we need a double latte.
