Danneman’s Coffee Open Tomorrow
![]()
Congratulations to Joe and Kate on passing the inspection, and to Grant and I for the great design and the top notch group of baristas that Kate hired and all of the other people that have had a hand in pulling this coffee shop out of a hat in just a few weeks. It is the kind of place that makes me want to sit and visit all afternoon. Grant says we need a group hug! I say we need a double latte.

Check it out, tomorrow in the A.M. at the corner of Edgewood and Boulevard. Be there or be square.

I am looking forward to seeing what you have done with Danneman’s. I came across your site through a google search tracking down information regarding the new coffee shop there. As a resident of Auburn Glenn, it is very convienient for me (yet, I never went to Javaology as they did not accept credit/debit).
Funny thing, I actually work for Mr. Danneman, the son of the late proprietors. I’ll have to see if he is following what you are doing there and get his opinion.

Terry,
Thanks for your note. Danneman’s will accept credit cards! That annoyed me too. what a coincidence that you work for Mr Danneman’s son.
We are so happy to bring the building back to its new roots. The Javaology was a shop in a box approach and we want the new Danneman’s to be reflective of the times that it was here and have that heart and soul. People like Kwanza Hall have come in talking about Mr. Danneman and how important he was to his father and to Rev. King and everything that was going on in back then.
The shops owner, Joe Stewardson, called and spoke to one of the Danneman daughters and asked if they were okay with using their name and she gave him a thumbs up. I wonder if the family has any photos from back in the day? We would love to hang a couple up. Anyway, glad you found me on-line. Let me know what you think.
