Maureen's kitchen is almost finished. We have knocked out two of the kitchen walls to open the kitchen up to the dining room and the den. We put in a large Island to separate the kitchen from the Dining Room. It feels so spacious and inviting now.

We used Ikea's new, Nexus Yellow Brown cabinets which have a sleek modern look to them. I think they turned out really well. The kitchen counter tops went in today. I used Corian, Canvas. I got it through Ikea and it was only 38.00 per sq ft, installed. Maureen had been thinking Festival would be nice. That is the white with the little confetti colored specs. I actually used Corian Festival in my kitchen which looks great in my loft, but it would be way over the top for Maureen's, especially since we are using a colorful backsplash tile from from Susan Jablon Mosaics. You can mix your own custom blends on her website and voila, she sends it to you in a week or so.

Busy rainy day. I had to go to Ikea to pick up a few more cabinet knobs for Maureen's kitchen, which BTW, is almost finished ( pictures to come soon). While I was there, I checked out their farm sinks to possibly go in a fun cottage kitchen that I am doing in Inman Park. This sink is the cats pajamas, in both looks and price. Have you noticed that it doesn't usually happen like that? Whatever looks good, even if it is the simpler thing, is usually more expensive. But not the Ikea Domsjo Farm Sink It is 36" wide with double basins maybe 8 or 9" deep and the flat drain part behind the sink is fluted. It looks fabulous and it is a bargain at $299.00. They also have a 24" farm sink but it doesn't have that great fluted part.

The studio opening party and artist sale continues today from 12-5 at 658 Angier Avenue. Mary has displayed Felted Heart baby clothes and dog sweaters, blankets, onsies and other items and some things are 50% off. I bought some beautiful and comfortable handmade damask covered shoes for 65.00 from Ann Roth, and four pair of fantastic earrings from Tracy Tirrell. I have been eying Jacqueline Sanchez's Lego jewelery but can't make up my mind which piece to get.

Mary's Felted Heart Business is ready to roll in the 658 Studio building on Angier Avenue in the Old Fourth Ward. She shares her space with Emile, a soap maker whose business is called "Mama". It is a really great idea to share space with a soap maker because it smells divine in there! Last time I was there to drop off a few more decorative elements, Emile had just whipped up a tray of lemon soap and it had so much lemon zest in it that it looked kind of hairy which sounds bad but was really nice. MMMmmm...

First they let you know that there is a new upgrade. The write up is enticing in that it promises that THIS version will fix so many little things that have been driving everyone crazy. So I get reeled in. I kind of remember how much of a pain in the ass it was last time i upgraded the software.

I'll admit it I am a blatant, copy cat. Shannon Baird, my new best friend from Portland Oregon had these moo cards as her biz cards. I adored them and had to have some myself. So I went to the Moo Card site and ordered some. Of course I used my own name and address on mine.

You can use over 50 templates or you can use your own photographs that are divided into little moo sized bits. They are very cool. I also bought the little white moo card dispenser about the size of pez, which is fun to whip out to present someone with your card. Check it out.

After catching a look at Lucious Lamar, who it turns out is only a step-brother she has never met, Eileen decided to get dressed up in case he drops by for a visit. Problem is Grant hasn't seen Luscious since someone borrowed him and Grant can't remember who. So if you know where Lucious ran off to please let me know. Grant would like him to come home and Eileen is waiting.

Grant Henry is wicked funny. I just about died laughing when I got his e-mail with several pictures of Lucious Lamar, Eileen's horny, alcoholic brother. Oh my god, they are funny and damn, so is Grant.

Sam Crawford was moving his video production studio, Mamarama, from 130 Krog Street to LA last month. I bought a couple of big items from him for Mary's studio while he was moving out. When I came to get my things from his office, Sam pulled out a large box and gave it to me and said you can have this wooden model, I have never put even put her together. He said, your sister can have her if whenever she sees her she sends good thoughts to my for my company.

Friday afternoon when I went to the Felted Heart studio, Mark, Mary and Sean had put her together as a surprise for me. It made me smile. Mary's husband, John, named her Eileen because she does.

I have had the pleasure of working with him on Mary Sweeney's Felted Heart studio. It was a dumpy little cinderblock cave and together we transformed it into a wonderful work space in the 658 Studios on Angier Avenue.

Heres how it works. I have done so many open houses at the Wigwam that it looks like I live there. I have spent mucho dollars on advertising and also Realtor caravans. I have had postcards printed up and have had several magazine articles about the Wigwam Annex. Everyone loves it but but but...

I found a really fun and addicting website yesterday, www.colourlovers.com. It is a site where you can play around with different palettes of colors and then create patterns based on those palettes. It will then give you all of the html (or other color identification systems) labels for each of the colors so that you can use them elsewhere.

I would really recommend that you not go to this site until after all your bills are paid. If you don't you may never get back to them,

said a voice of experience.
