Visit to the Wilds of Sage Saks Studio
Mary and I went out to Atlanta’s westside to visit one of her buddies from the Beehive, Lynn Morgan Tenille, at her “industrial chic” Sage Saks handbag studio. Sage Saks was having an open house and we went to check out Lynn’s fabulous hand tailored bags and also the studio space where she makes them. I loved her bags. They are made with upholstery type fabrics in gorgeous patterns and colors.

They also are as pretty inside as out so every time you open one there is a sweet little surprise for you. Lynn has a bunch of styles with sac like forms to flat bottomed boxy shapes. The prices range from the larger purses for about 100.00 to sweet little zippered bags at 22.00, for your carry around makeup. It was fun to see Lynn’s studio with all of her fabric swatches laid out in her workspace. Mary and I were especially interested in seeing the studio since Mary is getting ready to buy a building for her Felted Heart business. I found a great building in the Old Fourth Ward that has already been divided into three separate units. Mary will be able to have here studio in one of them and be able to rent out the other spaces for other artisan types.

When we left Lynn’s studio we saw a baby goat in the road who couldn’t get back into the pasture with the other goats. So we stopped and made an emergency goat rescue and then got back in the car to go around the corner to Forsyth Fabrics, which I can’t pass up if I am anywhere nearby.
At Forsyth’s there were a bunch of free range Roosters running around the parking lot. Nothin’ like big city shopping!
